PSychologist IN IBIZA

What can a PSychologist in ibiza do for you?

therapist in English

Hi! I am Belén Liñán,  psychologist in Ibiza. If you are here I imagine you are not going through the best of times.

Maybe you are going through some changes in your life that you don’t know how to manage or you have a family, job or couple situation that you are not prepared to deal with.

It could also be that you find yourself struggling with feeling off or anxious more often that you would like to… and you can not say what is exactly wrong.

First of all, I would like to say “Well done!”. You are definitely taking the first step to feel better. You’ve already gone part of the way.

Congratulations!

I also want to tell you that I understand that, apart from the emotional aspect, you are currently living or staying in Ibiza, a place where your language is not spoken by everybody and that, well… that usually tends to make things a little more difficult…

I know what I’m talking about. I’ve lived in England, Portugal, Morocco and India. I remember I used to miss so much talking about my stuff in my mother tongue!

My English is not bad. I have a degree in English Language and Literature and I have taught English for many years and, as I have already mentioned, it is a language that I have often used to interact in countries where Spanish was not used.

I swear I haven’t used the chatGTP to write these texts

In short, I know I can help you with, at least, two circumstances thay may be worrying you: finding a way to feel better  and being able to explain yourself in English, which may or may not be your mother tongue but perhaps you are better at it than Spanish.

I firmly believe that we will be able to understand each other! I might the pshychologist in Ibiza who can help you.

Let’s give each other a chance!

How do the psychology sessions work?

Psychologist in Ibiza

So, you finally decide you are going to see a phychologist in Ibiza.

You can write me an e-mail or you can phone me.

We make a first appointment (either face-to-face or online) and get to know each other.

You talk about what is going on with you.

I fully understand that you feel embarrassed to talk so intimately with an (until now) stranger…  and that makes you feel a little bit more at ease.

So you keep talking about what is bothering you.

I listen to you carefully and before the first session is over, I tell you if I think we can work together and explain how we will do it. We set a certain number of sessions and objectives.

During the following sessions we get to know each other better and we provide the different techniques and resources to achieve the objectives.

You start feeling better.

The weight you came in at the beginning starts feeling lighter.

We stop seeing each other so often. We miss each other but we know that this is all part of the therapeutic process.

Eventually we say goodbye but before that, I make sure you know I will be here in case you need me again!

WHAT CAN YOU GET FROM working with a pshychoterapist?

Some of the benefits that usually match the objectives of going to therapy may be:

-learning to relate better to yourself and people around you.

-exploring and understanding that uncomfortable feeling that has been with you for some time and that you don’t know where it may come from.

-becoming aware that things that happened in the past may still be affecting your present life.

-working out the best way of integrating your past experience and give a meaning to it so that enriches your self-concept and makes you aware of your personal emotional resources.

-overcoming a mourning process or a break-up.

-implementing techniques that help you manage conditions of anxiety, mental strain or symptoms of depression.

-obtaining greater autonomy to get to know and  manage your disturbing thoughts, emotional states and responses.

-improving your self-esteem.

-gaining self-confidence.

-feeling satisfied with life and its daily challenges.
